What is
SAM?

The government's system for award management is a set of processes, procedures, and tools that federal, state, and local government agencies use to manage procurement and administration of contracts, grants, and other types of awards. The goal is to ensure that the government's funds are used efficiently and effectively, in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The government's award management system typically includes several key components such as: Solicitation and proposal development: This includes the development of request for proposals (RFPs) or request for quotations (RFQs) and the management of the proposal review and selection process, that are publicly advertised to attract vendors and suppliers to submit their proposal or bid. Contract and grant administration: This includes the negotiation, execution, and monitoring of contracts and grants. This step also includes the management of any necessary modifications or amendments to the contract, making sure that the terms of the contract are met and the vendor is providing the goods or services that are agreed upon. Financial management: This includes the tracking of award-related expenses, the management of invoicing and payments, and the monitoring of compliance with financial regulations and laws. Reporting and compliance: This includes the management of required reports and the monitoring of compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other government-specific regulations. The government's award management process is typically more complex and bureaucratic than in the private sector, as it involves multiple layers of oversight and compliance with various laws and regulations to ensure transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.

Why You Need to do Business with the Government?

The Economy is Unstable

The economy can be bad for a variety of reasons, such as high unemployment rates, low consumer spending, and declining business profits. During times of economic downturn, it can be difficult for individuals and businesses to make a profit. One way to potentially weather the storm of a bad economy is through government contracting. Government contracting can provide a sense of security and stability, as the government is often seen as a reliable source of income. Additionally, government contracting is often necessary in order to fulfill the various needs of the government and its agencies. From construction projects to IT services, the government relies on contractors to provide a range of goods and services. This means that there is often a demand for contractors, even during tough economic times.

The Government Needs Help

These are not handouts! The government is actively seeking out contractors to work on a variety of projects. Federal agencies are required to set aside a certain percentage of their contracts for small businesses, and they also frequently seek out diverse contractors. This means that there may be opportunities for businesses of all sizes and backgrounds to get involved in government contracting.

Security

Overall, government contracting can be a lucrative way to make money during a bad economy. It offers a sense of security and stability, and there is often a demand for contractors to fulfill the various needs of the government. If you are a business owner or individual looking to weather a bad economy, government contracting may be worth considering. Although some companies do make their living solely off government contracts, we like to look at it as another tool in your toolbox. Remember most small businesses fail in the first year of their formation and much less survive to year five.

Our solution: Working with the Government doesn't have to be hard!

Problem: It's hard getting a government contract

Obtaining a government contract can be difficult for several reasons. Firstly, the process of bidding for a contract is often highly competitive, with many companies vying for the same opportunity. Additionally, the government has strict guidelines and regulations that companies must comply with in order to be considered for a contract. This can include requirements for certifications, experience, and financial stability. Additionally, the government also has a specific procurement process that companies must go through, which can be time-consuming and complex. Moreover, the government also have specific regulations for subcontracting, and compliance with labor laws, which may add more complexity for the companies. Lastly, the government also have a preference to award contracts to small and disadvantaged businesses, veterans, and service-disabled veterans, which can make it harder for larger companies to win contracts. All these reasons make it difficult for companies to win government contracts.

Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS) database

Get seen by Contracting Officers

The Small Business Administration maintains the Dynamic Small Business Search (DSBS) database. All participants in the federal marketplace utilize the DSBS. Contracting officers use it to identify potential small business contractors for upcoming contracting opportunities. Small businesses can also use DSBS to identify other small businesses for teaming and joint venturing. Prime contractors use the database to find potential subcontractors they can partner with. A DSBS profile posted by a Small Business is the “elevator pitch” that searchers see when they search the database. We help our clients design and maintain a profile that stands out from the rest
